A Mountain Hare hunkers down on a valley wall in the Dark Peak of the Peak District National Park. Taken in the heart of winter, this hare should be surrounded by a thick blanket of snow. As temperatures drop, the hare’s fur turns an icy white to camouflage it against the snow. However, as our climate changes, less and less snow is falling, and now the hare stands out against the dark moorland.
